I have a confession……when a recipe calls for butter, I always use salted butter. (I can hear the audible gasps). Yes, Ms. Martha Stewart would give me that look.
Wait, I’m not done…..and when I use said salted butter, I also add the salt that is called for in the recipe.
There, now that I have that off my chest, the world may continue to rotate on it axis.
Oh, and don’t judge, I haven’t had any complaints that my baked goods are too salty, so you can go ahead and use salted butter all you want.

    I too use salted butter. I remember your mom telling me years ago to use butter instead of margarine, especially if I was going to freeze my baked goodies.

    I have a confession to make also. When I read that you use salted butter, I gave an audible gasp. But, then I remembered how delicious your cakes are, and realize Martha Stewart does not know everything!
